Families,
Hi, my name is Susan Walsh and I am the Coordinator of Religious Education at St. Saviour Church. I have been the Coordinator of Religious Education since September, 2009. My husband and I have four children who currently attend St. Saviour’s religious education program. I have a background in education having taught in both catholic and public schools. I have worked with children in the general education setting as well as with children who have diverse learning needs.
When your child/children come home from class today please note the green folder that he/she/they have. The child/children will bring this folder back and forth each and every Sunday of attendance at the School of Religion. This folder serves as a means of communication between the parent(s)/guardian(s) and the classroom teacher. Please take the time to check the folder for any important notes--every Sunday. Please also place a sharpened pencil inside the folder each week.
Please also note the time in dismissal--it is 12:15--this is a change from the last School of Religion calendar year. It will no longer be necessary to pack your child a snack, unless there are dietary needs of some sort. Please contact me if there are dietary needs or note on the registration form if there are allergies of any kind. Please also note if your child needs any educational adaptations within the classroom. We want this to be a fun-filled learning experience with a focus on getting to know the faith in a way that is developmentally appropriate for each and every child.
Welcome to the parish of St. Saviour!! If I can be of any help or assistance please do not hesitate to contact me!
